I am driven by the challenges of everyday business, including driving projects, both small and large, from initial idea to final implementation. I have a real passion for success, results, and seeing the project positively affect business profits.

I’m a people person, working closely with individuals, understanding their challenges, goals, and ultimately collaborating to achieve and build on their successes.

Over 30 years experience as a shareholding director

My career began in 1983 when I joined Wiles Group Ltd, a West London based family owned office supplies business established in 1935, as a Sales Trainee. Over the next 6 years my role developed into operations management and I thrived in the company under the stewardship of the owner. In the early 90s, during the challenges of a UK recession, I was promoted to the role of Sales and Operations Director where I was responsible for all sales and operations functions with a team of 50 people reporting directly to me. I was incredibly fortunate at this time to have the opportunity to begin acquiring shares in the business, and by 2004 my shareholding had grown to represent a 25% stake in the business which was employing 60 people and achieving an annual turnover of £4m.

In 2006 Wiles Group Ltd. acquired Greenworld Office Supplies Ltd, a local and sustainability focused business with 10 employees and an annual turnover of £1.5m. I accomplished the successful merger of the two companies, rebranding to Wiles Greenworld Ltd, along with the purchase and refurbishment of a new office and 20,000 sq ft distribution centre.  The merger was a great achievement and we saw annual turnover increase from £4.5m to £6.2m with a team of 70 employees.  We quickly became an industry leader in sustainability, receiving many awards and industry recognition over the years. The two most notable were Sunday Times Best Green Business Awards and the Mayor of London Green 500 Companies.  

In 2016 we were approached by a leading industry competitor based in Cheltenham, Commercial Office Supplies Ltd, and negotiations led to them acquiring Wiles Greenworld. I continued to work with the new organisation (250 staff and turnover of £75m) as Commercial Director, where I was responsible for the seamless transfer and ongoing management of the Wiles Greenworld employees, operations and client accounts (some of which I had proudly held for over 30 years) until 2020, when I decided the time was right to take a well-deserved break having effectively integrated the businesses.

In 2018, we purchased an apartment in Lisbon, Portugal. When not using it ourselves, we rent it out to holidaymakers, handling reservations, relations, administration, and maintenance. We attained Superhost status in Spring 2019 and have maintained it since, also earning recognition as a 'Guest Favourite'. In March 2020, we redesigned and renovated the apartment, relaunching it in April 2021, Amazing Lisboa now goes from strength to strength.

My passion for the B2B environment never disappeared, and the pull was so strong that I decided to start IEBDConsulting. I have an innate curiosity about the world and love to travel, meeting new people and exploring their cultures, with the Far East being one of my favourite destinations. I spend much of my free time between London and Lisbon with my loving family and enjoy reading (when I get a quiet moment away from Frozen and Paw Patrol); Khaled Hosseini, Orhan Pamuk, Sebastian Faulks, and Ben Elton are amongst my favourite authors and I have a fondness for historical novels. I keep active by attending the gym and regularly partake in Yoga and Pilates classes. Socially, I most enjoy spending time with friends watching sports, putting the world to rights and reminiscing over a pint of Guinness.
